Back from Vegas/Sin City Sinners report!!

O.K....here it is-first of all my trip to Vegas was unbelievable!!!I won't bore you with all the food and gambling stories though.Only one thing is relevant here and it is my trip to Divebar and my encounter with Sin City Sinners and their special guest-"Mr Scary" George Lynch.

First-Divebar-four miles from the Vegas strip on Tropicana Avenue(3035 E. Tropicana Avenue to be exact, not 3055 like my buddy and I thought-thank god for the bright orange sign that said "DIVEBAR")And it was just that-a dive bar in a strip mall that included a Wal-Mart.Two rooms-the stage room was about three bowling lanes wide. When you enter he door-boom-you're at stage side. The bar room is about four bowling lanes wide and again-if you enter that door-start ordering a drink because you're at the corner of the bar.

Secondly-The band...Sin City Sinners(myspace.com/scsinners)Brent Muscat from Faster Pussycat on guitar,Todd Kerns(Age Of Electric,Static in Stereo)on vocals and some rhythm guitar,Rob Cournoyer(Raging Slab)on drums, and D.(Marky Ramone Band,Metal Shop)on bass. They play covers and songs from their respective pasts. Its a very fun show. They do it with a great sense of humor-Todd tells jokes, busts D's balls and makes a few cracks about being in Vegas, but they play really well not sloppy at all, they take the music seriously. If you ever have the chance, definitely check them out.Every Tuesday at the Divebar,Thursdays at Wasted Space at the Hard Rock, and Fridays at Diablo's Cantina at the Monte Carlo on the Strip.

Setlist for the first set(before George's arrival, not sure if I remember every single song)
-Detroit Rock City
-Runnin' With The Devil
-Bathroom Wall-sung by Brent of course!
-Its Not You,Its Me-(Todds song)
-Highway To Hell
-Sweet Child O' Mine
-Metal Health(Dedicated to Kevin Dubrow, who lived in Vegas at the time of his death)

George was run in with pretty heavy security(you'd think he was the POTUS)because they had to bring him in through the band room.Throughout the first set the guys were joking that George was asleep and was going to be late, wouldn't show, etc. He was coming down from L.A. where he was working in a Lynch Mob record. But he did show around midnight, plugged in and starting shredding!

Setlist w/George Lynch
-Wicked Sensation (Lynch Mob-D did his best Oni Logan-it was great!)
-Tie Your Mother Down (Queen)
-Into The Fire(Todd doing Don Dokken-awesome job!)
-Its Not Love
-Kiss Of Death(rare Dokken song-awesome choice)
-Moonage Daydream (Bowie-wonder if Mick Ronson was one of George's influences-he rocked this song out!)
-Ace Of Spades
-Whole Lotta Love

This was a great time.Unbelievable to see such big names in such a small setting.George was very complimentary to the Sinners,at the end of the first song he pointed to Rob and said what a great drummer he was and a fun guy to play with.He talked a lot actually to the crowd and to the band.He said his Souls Of We record is out in November and he is working on Lynch Mob for next year.Alright ...thats it..Pictures and video will be up soon on myspace.com/turn_it_up_radioshow.
